It's Follow Friday!

Feature & Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's question is:

Q: Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?

I'm kind of a freak of blogger nature, but I never buy books.
Seriously.
Never.
The last book I bought was Mockingjay, on the day it was released.

If I were going to pick up a couple books, I'd have to go with ones I already love and want to lend out to everyone I know. So, I'd pick:

Sweethearts by Sara Zarr, because it's the best book you've never heard of. (unless you read my blog regularly & know that I talk about it all. the. time.) Her most recent book, How to Save a Life, is better written, but Sweethearts is my favorite.

Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, because that's just a great book to own. I don't know of many people who have finished the book and didn't like it.

How about you? Do you like to buy books you haven't read, or stick to things you know you already like?

    1. You too! Ok, I confess I know a few people who couldn't get into it, either. The beginning is kind of tough, because it's really hard to tell what's going on.

    1. It really is a great book, as long as you can make it past the somewhat confusing parts in the beginning. :)

  7. I don't usually buy in hard copy unless I REALLY LOVE THEM. Now that I have a kindle, I have to like it electronically first.

    1. I love it! :) I think if I had an e-reader I'd probably buy more books than I do now, but still only ones I liked.

  11. Kathy, you literally just read my mind. That's exactly how I feel about books! I haven't read either of the books you've mentioned though: I love Melina Marchetta's "Saving Francesca" Amazing! I'm a new follower!
