Friday Blog Hop

Every Friday Crazy for Books hosts a hop and a book related question.  You should check it out.

Book Blogger Hop

This week's is:
If you could physically put yourself into a book or series…which one would it be and why?
A lot of what I've been reading lately has people living in the present (or dystopias) so that won't work.  I'd have to pick Scott Westerfeld's alternate steampunk WWI-iverse found in Leviathan.
Don't let the name scare you. The book's awesome.
If I could fly around in a giant whale, have message lizards, or use the phrase wee beasties, I think I'd pretend to be a boy, too.  I have a funny story about how I ended up reading this one that I'll post soon.

ps - also, be happy for me. I vanquished my 4562 foe for another year and finished my taxes.

  1. Hopping by your blog.

    Congratulations on finishing your taxes!

I still haven't read Leviathan, although it sounds interesting. I'm even more intrigued if it sounds like an interesting world to live in.

  2. Congrats on finishing your taxes!

I too have been reading a lot of dystopia right now and while Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and Matched are all fantastic- I dont want to live ANY of them! lol!

Great pick! I look forward to your funny story!

  3. blog (fun name, btw) I'm not even doing Leviathan justice. The world in that one is really cool.

McGuffy Ann thanks! I don't know if that's in reference to the taxes or the reading choice, but I'll take it! ;)

KW I love all those dystopian books but I wouldn't want to live in any of them, either! Especially not The Maze Runner. That book was creepy.

  4. I just bought Behomoth so I guess it's time to get reading. They sound like such fun. Thanks for following by my blog and leaving a comment!

  5. Apologies in advance for my answer this week as it will not immediately resonate with the book blogger population which happens to be 99.5% female.

My choice is a book series geared towards guys which won’t enthrall the vast majority of my fellow book bloggers (who are almost entirely female) with the extensive discussion of powerful weapons and sexy milspec gear, beautiful women, eye-popping action sequences (with occasionally obscene violence), and the like.

But there IS something in my answer that just about everyone of the female persuasion can benefit from my decidedly “books for guys” post. Hop on over to to find out what it is.

    Happy Hop Friday!

  6. Steampunk is one genre I've yet to experience. Interesting.

  10. Great choice! I never thought of Leviathan but I have to admit, it'd be pretty damn amazing!

I can't believe you stumbled upon an Ally Condie signing while getting pizza!!! That's hilarious!

  12. Hi, thanks for hopping by my blog! I read Leviathan, but steampunk isn't really for me. As a concept, it seems pretty cool to me - I just haven't read a steampunk book I like yet, haha.
